Digital Images; Layouts, File Formats, Storage...OH MY!

We live and work in a visual world. Some believe that the next millennium could be called the “visual age.” Communicating visually is now a way of life both personally and in the business world. We absorb information in small “bites” and communicate using imagery in everything we do. Statistics show that photos get 120% more engagement on Facebook and videos 100% more engagement than text alone.
So what does this mean for professional communicators and trainers? It means you need to communicate visually in the most effective way possible. Jen will share with you practical information for maximizing the quality of imagery in your communication and training materials. Some of the topics covered will include:

  • How does layout and placement affect the reader?

  • What type of file format should I use and why?

  • How should I store and maintain my digital assets?

  • When do I need to hire a professional photographer and why?

In addition to the above, Jen will share tips and tricks for capturing better digital images.

Prepare for the future of eLearning -- quickly and easily publish to mobile devices using HTML5.

OBJECTIVES
Step 1: Learn how to publish Articulate Storyline & Adobe Captivate to HTML5
Step 2: Test your eLearning programs on mobile devices (using HTML5)
Step 3: Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of HTML5 delivery

In this one-day workshop you'll  consider what HTML5 means to you as an e-learning designer, examples of its capabilities and shortcomings, how you can prepare yourself to deliver to HTML5, and how to start delivering HTML5-based courses today using tools you already have. Then, we will test your e-Learning on mobile devices!

Who is Joe Ganci "eLearning Joe":

Joe -- CEO of eLearning Joe -- is on a mission to "improve the quality of e-Learning everywhere." Since 1983, he has been involved in every aspect of e-Learning development, and is widely considered a guru on the subject. He has written several books on e-Learning, spoken at conferences in the U.S. and Europe. He has taught classes and seminars at leading universities, government facilities, commercial firms, and educational institutions, and is famous for his highly effective presentations:

"I learned SO MUCH at the workshop. I couldn't stop hyping it up to everyone at work...I hope to continue to follow Joe and, if he teaches a longer session and it's open to me, to attend another. At the risk of sounding like a groupie, Joe Rocks!" ~ Testimonial

Why You Should Attend:

HTML5 is fast becoming the standard for e-learning -- allowing for much easier delivery to mobile devices (and other platforms that don’t support Adobe Flash), more precise formatting, and a more user-friendly, interactive experience.

Who Should Attend?:

Although this workshop is geared to the beginner, all participants should be familiar with e-learning design and development practices. Participants should be interested in understanding the impact HTML5 will have on their work.
